Weekly Updates with lots of Cuda-tastic information

Posted by Barracudas Presidents

Our swim team season is officially on blast-off mode after awesome swims at Huntington Estates and against Farmstead Flying Fish. Congratulations to the 6 & Under and 11-12 age groups for winning the color wars Saturday! Each age group will enjoy a freeze pop after practice next week.

🎉 Congratulations to Juliet Piszynski for breaking the Huntington pool record at our home meet on Saturday in 9-10 50 Backstroke! The previous record was set back in 2012!

Meet timelines (same all season)

  • Evening Meets: 4:30 PM gates · 4:45 PM check-in & warm-ups · 5:30 PM start · 9:30 PM finish
  • Morning Meets: 7:30 AM gates · 7:45 AM check-in & warm-ups · 8:30 AM start · 12:30 PM finish

Important meet reminders

Unless you are a timer, back-up timer, official, runner, or coach, parents are not permitted behind the blocks, even during warm-ups. This is for swimmer safety, and there are plenty of great viewing spots around the pool to cheer on your amazing Barracuda!

Phones, videos, and pictures are also not allowed behind the blocks as part of USA Swimming Safe Sport guidelines. Thank you for helping us keep our meets safe for everyone.

Boys / Girls Invite. June 25th

Saybrook will host the boys invite and Huntington Estates will host the girls invite. This is only for swimmers 7 and older (6 & Under cannot swim these meets). These meets compete against many other pools and are really fun! Please check your commitments if you plan on swimming.

Save the dates

  • Thursday, July 2 vs Steeple Run. Celebrating our 2025 record breakers + Golden Goggles Night!
  • Thursday, July 9 vs Maplebrook 2. Senior celebration honoring our 3 Barracudas seniors.

Check your commitments

Take a moment to look through every meet and accept or decline your swimmers. Lots of deadlines are coming up. Use the notes box for the coaches (e.g., "arriving late from baseball, free relay only"). Here's an example of leaving a commitment note:
